Dr. Michael Leitz (D.Min)
Professional Credentials
Dr. Michael Leitz holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Lincoln Christian University, a Master’s degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Illinois State University.
He is certified through (AASAT.org) as a Pastoral Counselor and Coach, holding eight AASAT certifications including Sex Addiction, Intimacy Anorexia, Partner Betrayal, and Partner Betrayal Trauma. Michael is also a Certified Professional Recovery Coach through the International Association of Professional Recovery Coaches (IAPRC.org) , equipping him to work with a wide range of addictions.
Experience and Ministry Background
With nearly thirty years of experience, Michael has been walking alongside individuals and couples facing addiction, trauma, and relational brokenness.
In 2013, he launched the Celebrate Recovery ministry at his church, a Christ-centered 12-step program that continues to thrive and serve people of all ages seeking freedom from hurts, habits, and hang-ups.
Recovery and Hope
Out of his own recovery journey nearly three decades ago, Michael is passionate about helping others find “Final Freedom” from addiction and shame.
His compassionate, Christ-centered approach supports singles and couples in healing from porn and sex addiction, including affair recovery, partner betrayal trauma, and intimacy anorexia.

Michael helps people move from merely surviving to truly thriving through client-focused, solution-oriented work.
He integrates science-based tools with spiritual formation to help clients grow in self-awareness, emotional health, and relational connection. He is willing to speak hard truths in a loving way, always with the goal of helping clients reach their fullest potential.
Marriage and Family Focus
Michael has served since 1999 in full-time pastoral ministry in many roles including Marriage Pastoral Counselor. He is certified in both Prepare/Enrich and DARE Marriage Mentoring, which he uses to help couples strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and deepen intimacy.
